Explorer 203 (Ludlow) GR SO 505758 There is free access to showers, wash basins and toilets. Camping fees will be £5.50 per unit per night be it large tent, small tent, caravan or autohome. There are no hook up facilities nor sanitation disposal points. The £5.50 charge will be for each individual item. In other words two tents as part of the same family will incur two charges of £5.50 per night = £11. Also a caravan + tent will also be classed as two units. However, should you wish to book a unit for three nights it comes at a bonus price of only £13. Next door to the Event Centre and campsite is the Ludlow Leisure Centre - a large complex with full sporting facilities and pool. Ludlow town shops are but a few hundred yards away with a large supermarket being the nearest. There are many specialist food shops in town with half a dozen butchers, half a dozen bakers, three supermarkets, tourist shops, organic shops, a specialist beer shop, several banks, a cinema and, if all you want is a bag of sandwiches they can be freshly made in town. Please book your pitch in advance. Although unreserved entries will be accepted on arrival and indeed made welcome, there will be enough to do over the weekend without the additional burden of paper chasing and reconciling camp site fees. On arrival at the site please check in with our camp superintendent before pitching. Should you wish to park on tarmac instead of grass this can be arranged. If you intend to arrive on Friday night we cannot gain access to the school premises until about 6:00 p.m. when all the pupils have finished their activities. We then have to lay out the camp site. Try and arrive from around 6:15p.m. onwards. Rules and Regulations for your own safety.
(a) Do not pitch tents or vehicles closer than 5
metres. This is to prevent a fire in one spreading to another.
(e) You are camping on a school sports field. Leave
your pitch free from any litter, glass etc.!!
(g) Not for your safety, but because the school have
vetoed them, no barbecues are allowed on the camp site other than in
the designated area.

Travel Directions The camp site is best approached from the north side of Ludlow town using the A49. This will also be the natural approach road for most of you from the east and west. Drive southwards down the A49 past the signs to Ludlow racecourse. Then look for the exit left off the A49 onto the B4361 (clearly signposted Ludlow). From the south stay on the A49 and by-pass Ludlow, carefully watch for the same B4361 on your right. For you it is a nasty and very sharp hairpin turn across the oncoming traffic. It is still signposted Ludlow but it is only a small sign! Once on the B4361 (known as "The Burway") you travel a few hundred metres before passing under a bridge. Shortly after that bridge turn off right into the car park of the South Shropshire Leisure Centre. The camp site will be signposted from within this car park. Report to the camp site Superintendent on arrival. Take care when driving in the vicinity of the School and Leisure centre - there is a 30 and a 20 mph limit here, including camera threats. Don't spoil your weekend with an embarrassing photograph!
